Mind-Body Psychoneuroimmunology
Lab

Exploring how interactions between the brain, immune system and body contribute to mental and physical health.

The MBP Lab, based at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London, investigates biological mechanisms underlying mental health conditions to inform and improve treatment.

About us

Group of ten women standing in front of a large wall-mounted screen displaying a video conference with four participants, one of whom is taking the photo. They are inside a conference room with laptops, notebooks, and water bottles on the table.

The lab brings together a highly enthusiastic and dynamic team of researchers with diverse expertise across neuroscience, immunology, psychiatry and mind-body research.

By combining complementary skills and perspectives, we aim to better understand the biological mechanisms linking mind and body and translate these discoveries into meaningful advances for human health.

Our research takes a strongly translational approach, combining clinical data and biological samples from patients with laboratory-based mechanistic studies.

A major focus is the use of human cell models to investigate how immune and inflammatory signals alter cellular function and disease-relevant pathways.

By integrating clinical phenotyping, biomarker analysis and cellular experiments, we aim to uncover mechanisms that can inform more targeted and biologically grounded treatments.te team
